How to Read the Baccarat Big Road

The big road is the primary baccarat scoreboard used in every casino and live studio. Each cell records one finished round: red for Banker, blue for Player. Reading it takes about two minutes to learn.

The three drawing rules

1. Same result → go down. While the same side keeps winning, cells stack downward in one column. A column is a streak.
2. Different result → new column. When the winner changes, drawing moves one column right and starts from the top.
3. Tie → mark, don't move. A tie draws a green slash on the last cell (with a counter for repeats). It never starts a column.

In the sample above you can instantly see: a 3-streak of Banker, choppy alternation, then a 4-streak of Player. That shape — streaks versus chop — is what everyone is scanning for.

Reading it fast

• Long columns = streaky shoe ("the dragon").
• Single-cell columns in a row = ping-pong (alternation).
• Column depth pattern (2-2-2, 1-1-1…) is what derived roads formalize — see the derived roads guide.

What the big road cannot tell you

Every round is dealt from the same shoe with a fixed house edge (about 1.06% on Banker, 1.24% on Player). The big road shows what happened; it does not change the odds of what happens next. What a tracker adds is honest measurement: how often each pattern actually continued in this room, with sample sizes — so you judge signals with numbers instead of feelings.
